SAYRE, PA. (WENY) -- Veterans Day celebrations took place across the Twin Tiers on Monday. In Bradford County, Guthrie honored members of their team who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. Members of Guthrie Veterans Committee and Guthrie Leadership gave remarks Monday afternoon, recognizing the sacrifice our country's brave men and women make to protect our freedoms.

Officials presented the 2019 employee veteran gift. This year's gift is a Military Challenge Coin. It bears Guthrie's insignia and represents the 5 branches of the U.S. armed forces.

"Our hospital really supports our veterans, we have a great veterans group here, and the hospital being able to look at us today and honor us means a lot to me," says Lt. Col. Chuck Crusha, who served in the Army Reserves and is currently a Registered Nurse with Guthrie.

Among the other honorees included was Guthrie Relations Specialist, Michele Browning. She served in active duty in the Coast Guard for four years.
Browning tells WENY News, it's important to recognize all those who sacrificed so much willingly for our freedoms.
