Ithaca Police looking for missing teenager
UPDATE, 11/22/2019 AT 7:05 a.m.: ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Shawna Reese was located walking in the city of Ithaca after midnight by a concerned citizen, according to Ithaca Police.
She was then taken to the St. Johns Community Center, where an employee contacted police.
Authorities responded and confirmed the teen was Shawna Reese, who appeared to be safe and unharmed.
Ithaca Police transported Shawna's mother to the community center, where she was reunited with her daughter.
The Ithaca Police Department would like to thank the community and other agencies who assisted in efforts that led to this positive outcome.
ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Ithaca Police Department is looking for a missing 15-year-old girl.
Police say Shawna Reese was last seen leaving the area of 150 West Village Place around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday (11/21). Police say she's 5'2" and 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing all black clothing and walking towards Elm Street by herself.
As of right now, IPD says there's no reason to believe that she is the victim of a crime. Police are concerned for her well-being because she has been diagnosed with autism.
