Sayre, PA (WENY) -- The Christmas season kicked off in Sayre with their annual Christmas parade.

Hundreds of people could be seen lining the street around Guthrie hospital and adjacent street. This year features a number of floats, performances and decorated emergency vehicles. This is the 8th year Austin's Excavating and paving has hosted the parade. The family owned business gets their employees and family to participate in the parade. They started planning their float idea as soon as last years wrapped up. They say the parade is always been very well received.

“I think that's the best part of the entire show is You make every child's night. When you come here they are watching for you and to see their faces, light up when you give them. We hand out toys as well. Stuff animals, glow sticks, not just candy.” said Amber, with Austin's Excavating and Paving.
