We are expecting snow overnight tonight, but another chance for winter weather comes early this week. As we begin the work week, we will be watching out for the chance to see freezing rain fall across the Twin Tiers. A low pressure system will move from the Central US, into the Midwest by Monday afternoon before bringing our region a chance for wintry weather Monday night and into Tuesday. A warm front ahead will pump warm air into the upper levels and high pressure to our north will drop cold air into the region at the surface and creating the perfect recipe for freezing rain. Due to this delicate setup, freezing rain totals are still in question because with more cold air we could be looking at more snow and sleet, whereas more warm air could lead to plain rain. We will continue to update you as we get closer.
