CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) – This week's adoptable pet with the Chemung County SPCA is BB. BB is a two-year-old cat, who has been with the shelter for 230 days. Arynn Brucie, with the SPCA says BB should be the only animal in the house. Brucie says “she is not a fan of cats and is timid of dogs.” She is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccines. BB is sponsored, so you can adopt her free of charge.

The SPCA hours are not affected this week due to the holidays. They will be open for regular hours tomorrow and the shelter is always closed on Wednesdays, so they will be closed Christmas Day.

There are no dogs available for adoption now, but there are plenty of are available for adoption.

The holiday open house was last Saturday. There was a great turnout. 7 animals were adopted. The SPCA says they are grateful for the outcome.

Brucie has tips for giving pets as gifts for the holidays. She says if you want to buy someone a pet for a gift, you should bring that person in to make sure they are ready for the financial responsibility and all of the responsibilities that come with having a pet.
