CANTON, PA (WENY) -- A Canton man was arrested on Saturday by Pennsylvania State Police after being accused of cruelty to animals.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 49-year-old Randy Howard agreed to feed his friend's pets while he was away, but failed to do so. Troopers say eight dogs were found deceased and four dogs were seriously injured. Police say the injuries were caused by "acute starvation and dehydration".

Howard was arrested at his home on December 28th.

Howard is facing multiple charges, including 12 felony counts of Aggravated Cruelty to Animals - Torture.

His bail was set at $100,000 and he was sent to the Bradford County Correctional Facility.
