ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- One of Elmira's newest apartment buildings is now home to a brand new coffee house.

Located inside the 100 West Water Street apartment building, Elmira Tea & Coffee House hosted a small soft opening earlier this afternoon. The introduction to the community will also happen tomorrow and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Also called 'ETCH,' the business is powered through Capabilities, Inc. which provides people living with various disabilities the opportunities to choose, get, and keep the job of their choice.

"Very relaxed. We tried to create a a very casual, almost 'Friends'-like show, kind of like that. We have huge couches back there that were upholstered in our upholstery shop. We just wanted it to be a very relaxing vibe. We want to revitalize Elmira and have something new here," says Trevor Keller, General Manager of Elmira Tea & Coffee House. 

Elmira Tea & Coffee House is also partnering with 'gimme!' coffee, an Ithaca-based specialty coffee roaster and retailer. The shop will be fully opening starting February 3rd, Monday through Sunday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
