ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – A weapon bust sends two people behind bars in Elmira. Elmira Police arrested Janith Reeves and Delon Halloway early yesterday morning. EPD were called to the 600 block of Columbia Street for a peacekeeping.

The person who called police asked for assistance in “retrieving personal property from a residence.” Once officers arrived on the scene around 2:45 yesterday morning, they learned that the person who called them got into a verbal argument with the people inside the home.

A handgun was seen on the front porch, according to police. EPD says the gun was loaded. A woman was questioned on the porch outside the home and she reportedly claimed she owned the gun. Police say they later found ammunition.

Reeves and Halloway were arraigned in Elmira City Court and are being held in Chemung County Jail in lieu of bail.
