TST BOCES campus closed to students till April 13th

Ithaca, NY (WENY) -- Dr. Jeffery Matteson, the district superintendent for Tompkins Seneca Tioga BOCES has announced that the campus would be closed on March 16th and March 17th. Dr. Matteson also said in a letter that the campus would be closed off for students starting Monday and will be closed until Monday, April 13th. Starting Monday, the campus will be going through deep cleaning of all BOCES facilities. Only Operations and maintenance staff will be able allowed on campus.
In a statement Dr. Matteson said, “I want to thank you all for your flexibility and patience as our response to COVID-19 has been rapidly evolving each day. We have been working diligently with our community partners to plan and respond to this emerging issue. As recommended by the Tompkins County Health Department, late this afternoon, the TST BOCES campus will be closed to students effective March 14, 2020”.
Starting On Wednesday, March 18th, all 11 and 12 month staff should report as regularly scheduled and adult education programming will resume. Additional planning will also take place during this time.
On Thursday, March 19th the rest of the faculty and staff should report at their usual time, with part of the day being dedicated to the continuity of campus operations.
“We do not anticipate being required to make up the missed instructional days, but more information will follow as our plans evolve. Critical functions such as payroll and benefits will continue to operate without interruption so long as a state declaration does not hinder our ability to conduct business,” said Dr. Matteson.
