(WENY) – Arts and crafts giant Hobby Lobby has temporarily closed all of its stores nationwide until further notice amid the Coronavirus pandemic.  As a result, the company is furloughing nearly all of its store employees as well as some corporate and distribution employees.

The company says it will end emergency leave pay and suspend the use of company-provided paid time off benefits in order to allow furloughed employees to take advantage of the pandemic unemployment compensation and recovery rebates provided by the federal government.

Hobby Lobby says it will maintain medical-dental life and long-term disability benefits for employees through at least May 1st, and will pay the cost of premiums for those benefits while employees are furloughed without pay.
