Post tropical storm Fay will continue to move towards the north and our eyes will be turning towards the threat for severe weather this afternoon. Energy to our west over Lake Erie will move into the Twin Tiers this afternoon popping up numerous showers and storms and a few storms could be on the severe side. Timing of our severe weather threat will likely be from 1 pm this afternoon until around 7pm this evening, when we lose that daytime heating. Storms today will bring chances to see small hail, damaging winds, and a flash flood threat. The rain is welcomed no doubt, but rain today in some locations could be heavy at times. With ground conditions being so dry they can not soak in rain as quick as usual, and with rainfall amounts expected to be near or over an inch in the heaviest of the showers and storms some minor flash flooding is possible. Stick with us this afternoon as we keep you updated on the latest watches and warnings, stay safe.
