ALBANY, N.Y. (WENY) – It has been five months since the first coronavirus case was confirmed in New York. In Governor Cuomo's briefing yesterday, he announced the highest number of tests ever conducted in the state. 82,737 tests were conducted just yesterday. 0.91% came back positive.

New cases have been reported in 46 counties. An additional 753 cases were reported across the state yesterday as well as 581 hospitalizations. In addition to all of these numbers, 4 deaths were also reported.

In the briefing, Cuomo goes onto urge people to remain vigilant as the virus is still active. He continues to encourage people to not attend crowded parties. However, 15 more locations were just added to New York City's Open Street and Open Restaurant program. This program allows expanded restaurant seating options on car-free streets on weekends.
