Village Of Horseheads Elected Officials Sworn Into Office
HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Three Horseheads Village elected officials took the oath into office today.
The Village of Horseheads held a virtual swearing in ceremonial Monday for William Goodwin, Michael Skroskznik and Andrew Smith.
Goodwin and Skroskznik are both returning Village Trustees who were re-elected in November. Village Justice Andrew Smith was also sworn in along with the Trustees in Monday's ceremony.
Judge David Brockway administered the oaths to the elected officials.
“It is a great honor to administer the oaths, one of the happier things I’ve gotten to do as a Judge,” said Judge Brockway.
He asked each of the elected officials to raise their right hand, repeat after him and swear to support and uphold the constitution of the United States of America, the constitution of the State of New York and the local laws of the Village of Horseheads.
“Congratulations to all of you,” said Judge Brockway.
Goodwin began office as Trustee in 2015 and Skroskznik was first elected in 2012 as Village Trustee.
Smith defeated conservative candidate Michael Belosky in the November elections.
