Winter's Last Gasp?
An arctic front will pass by the Twin Tiers this afternoon, bringing snow showers, gusty conditions, and another shot of bitter cold air for the region. A Wind Advisory will go in effect for the entire viewing area this afternoon, and last until Tuesday morning. Winds will gust upwards of 40 MPH out of the northwest, flooding the region with another surge of arctic air. Temperatures will drop into the 20 by this evening and continue to drop into the low teens by daybreak Tuesday. With the gusty conditions expect wind chills this evening to drop into the teens and then below 0 Tuesday morning.
The good news is that winds will begin to calm down during the morning hours Tuesday and wind chills will not be a factor Tuesday afternoon, but prior to that we will need to utilize the winter gear once again this season out the door Tuesday morning. Looking forward, this week will be relatively chilly with highs in the 30s, except for Wednesday where highs push back into the 40s. We will turn dry Tuesday as well, and most of this week will filled with a mix of sun and clouds.
