The rain is for today, and gusty conditions are expected tomorrow. We will not only have one cold front swing through the Twin Tiers, but two! Both of these fronts will bring us cool air, but the second front brings us gusty conditions as an extra "gift." The first front swings through this evening after a line of heavy showers and a few rumbles of thunder roll by, but the second front will swing through tonight. Not a lot of moisture will be accompanied by the second front, but chilly air and windy conditions will be. Temperatures will start off in the 40s and 50s Friday morning, but that second cold front will be responsible for our temperatures dipping into the low 40s and upper 30s by the Friday evening commute. We turn even colder from there as temperatures drop near the freezing mark by Saturday morning. This front will also stir up a few lake effect rain and snow showers Friday evening before they dissipate late Friday night. Although most of us will be left with no accumulation come Saturday morning, the highest elevations near the Finger Lakes may see upwards to an inch of snow once again. Don't worry, it will not stick around for long as temperatures recover to near 60 Saturday afternoon under partly cloudy skies. The main weather headline with this front will be the gusty conditions.

The gusts will begin to pick up late tonight and by Friday morning, we will likely see gusts near 25 MPH. The gusts will continue to strengthen and we will see wind gusts near 40 MPH by Friday afternoon. These gusty conditions will continue through Friday night before we are left with breezy conditions Saturday. Power outages are not much of an issue, but with gusts as high as 40 MPH, we can not rule out a few isolated outages across the Twin Tiers. Also, definitely bring in any loose outdoor furniture as that may be blown away also. Finally, with the colder air expected and temperatures in the 30s Friday evening every ones favorite weather duo is back. The wind chill! With the gusty conditions and chilly temperatures expected for Friday evening, we will likely see wind chills in the low 30s which then drop into the 20s Friday night! Although the calendar says the last day of April, mother nature will be trying hard to make it feel like the last day of February. Bundle up!
