After a nice and relatively dry day Saturday, some scattered showers will fall throughout the region Sunday.

This is all thanks to a low-pressure system pushing off to the south. While the brunt of the rain will miss the region entirely, some showers will develop during the afternoon hours as some of the energy from the system transfers into the Twin Tiers.

The good news is that these showers will not be widespread and most should remain dry for the majority of the day. However, some thunderstorms could form, which could increase the amount of rain that falls.

Overall, most will see less than a tenth of an inch of new rain. But as previously mentioned, some localized areas could see amounts up to a quarter of an inch of new rain if a thunderstorm develops.

Keep the umbrella close by as you head out the door Sunday afternoon.
