ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – Chemung County Chamber of Commerce President Kamala Keeley is stepping down from her role to become the president of Three Rivers Development Corporation, a non-profit economic development organization out of Corning.

Keeley will replace Susan Payne, who retired this year following more than 30 years in “various economic development roles throughout the Southern Tier”.

Keeley previously worked for the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce since 2007; she has served as Chamber president and CEO for the last five years.

“Susan Payne helped us get positioned with a new strategy, website, and more engaged board model so it’s the perfect time to bring Kamala here to help implement and leverage her rich connections throughout the area,” said Chris Sharkey, board chairwoman at Three Rivers.

Three Rivers Development was first established in 1966 and “leads, partners, collaborates and advocates for business in Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler Counties”.

Chemung County Chamber of Commerce board president Michael Printup says they are currently searching for a new Chamber president.
