CANDOR, N.Y. (WENY) --  A Tioga County, New York man was arrested and charged after allegedly pointing a shotgun at a Trooper before barricading himself inside of his home.

According to New York State Police, 35-year-old Dustin White of Candor was charged with menacing a police officer, criminal possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest. State Police say around 8 p.m. Thursday, a Trooper who was out on patrol on Straits Corners in Candor saw a man walking down the road with a shotgun over his shoulder. As the patrolling Trooper approached, White pointed his shotgun at the Trooper.

After barricading himself, White was taken into custody around 6 a.m. Friday by members of the NYSP Special Operations Response Team.

The investigation is ongoing.
