ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – The Chemung County Health Department is holding booster shot-only COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the coming weeks.

Boosters for all three vaccines will be offered based on availability. The clinics require pre-registration; no walk-ins will be accepted. You can register online by clicking here. In order to sign up, you need to know the dates you received your initial doses, which can be found on your vaccination card.

The Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care can help individuals who do not have access to a computer/internet and are unable to self-register. If you know anyone in this situation, tell them to call 607-737-5530 and leave a message.

Booster shots are offered to Americans who are:

65 or older
18 and older who live in long-term care settings
18 and older who have underlying medical conditions
18 and older who work or live in high-risk settings

Those who meet the criteria and got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines can get the booster shot six months after their second dose. For those who received Johnson and Johnson, they can get the booster two months after the initial dose.

At this time the Chemung County Health Department is not mixing vaccine types, meaning your booster shot must be whatever vaccine brand you originally got.

Masks are required to be worn at all clinics.
