ELMIRA, NY (WENY) - Elmira residents were invited to the Joycrest Skating Rink this weekend to support a good cause.

Joycrest Pickleball held the Dink in Pink Event Saturday evening to raise awareness for breast cancer. The public was invited to the rink for a fun night with food, music, and pickleball.

Players paid $20 to participate, and breast cancer survivors played for free. Joycrest plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to The Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes.

Breast Cancer Survivor Becky Pesansky organized the Dink in Pink Event. She was grateful for the turnout of supporters.

“My hope for this event was for people to realize there’s resources out there,” Pesansky said. “It’s just very overwhelming that this many people came to support this.”

Becky hopes to make Dink in Pink an annual event.
