HAMMONDSPORT, NY (WENY) -- This week in wine country, sponsored by Finger Lakes Wine Country, we're visiting Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery in Hammondsport, overlooking Keuka Lake.

Dr. Frank Winery is a 4th generation family owned winery, currently operated by Meaghan Frank, the great-granddaughter of the winery's founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank.

Dr. Frank is credited with pioneering the first eastern European grape varieties in the United States, helping create the what is now a thriving grape and wine industry in the Finger Lakes.

The winery currently creates 40 different varieties of wines, including traditional methode champenoise sparkling wines. 

Laury Ward, President of Finger Lakes Wine Country, is sharing her top wine picks for Thanksgiving dinner:

- Gewurztraminer
- Semi-Dry Riesling
- Anything bubbly!

Dr. Frank Winery is open year round, seven days a week. Reservations are requested in advance; tastings are available, as well as flight and wine by the glass. Also available for purchase are a cheese and charcuterie plate, which can be enjoyed on site.

Additionally, the Clemens Center has launched a QR code that will lead people directly to the organization's donation page, as live performances have returned to the performing arts center! The next production in the Clemens Center's annual Broadway series is WAITRESS, featuring original music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles.
