Steuben County reports four new COVID deaths

BATH N.Y. (WENY) - The Steuben County Public Health Department received word of four COVID-related deaths.
This brings the total number of COVID deaths in Steuben County to 273.
The individuals who passed were:
- Male resident from the Village of Bath who died at the age of 60
- Male resident from the Town of Howard who died at the age of 70
- Female resident from the City of Hornell who died at the age of 68
- Male resident from the Town of Woodhull who died at the age of 43
"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of those who have passed," said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. "Only one of the last 22 individuals who have died has been vaccinated. We cannot stress enough the importance of getting vaccinated now. Although there have been breakthrough cases, the vaccines offer a high level of protection against serious illness and death related to COVID."
All residents should continue to monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, or chills.
