(WENY) -- January 27, 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the Paris Peace Accord, the treaty that marked the official end of direct United States involvement in Vietnam.

To recognize this anniversary, WENY News is sharing the stories of veterans in our community. This week, we're highlight U.S. Army Veteran Vernon Brewer, II. 

The three-time Purple Heart recipient first deployed to Vietnam at age 17, and served as a member of the Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade. He later wrote a book about his time in country, and donate a portion of the proceeds towards Vietnam-related causes. 

Brewer's novel, titled Frenchy's Whore, is available for purchase on Amazon.
