BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WENY) - A Tompkins County man was sentenced yesterday to 20 years in federal prison for his convictions on drug trafficking charges and possessing firearms.

The man is 31 year old Shameek Halls who was sentenced for selling crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl in Broome County from 2018 to 2019. Investigators also seized three hand guns, an AR-15 style weapon and ammunition.

As part of his guilty plea, he admitted that the firearms helped him in his drug trafficking crimes.

After his prison term, he'll also serve 5-years of parole.
