ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Emma, WENY's Pet of the Week from the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA!

Emma is a 10-month-old Siberian husky/labrador retriever mix who is full of life and energy. She is choosy with other dogs, has lived with a cat before and is best with kids 10 years old and older. According to Jaime Wolf, the SPCA's Media Relations Coordinator, Emma needs an owner who has had prior experiences with huskies so they can take their time with her.

The SPCA will also be holding two educational events for students in the upcoming weeks. The first one will take place March 20, where high school students can shadow one of the SPCA's spay and neuter clinics. The second will take place on April 3 and is designated for students in grades second through fifth. Those elementary students will get a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter itself.

Wolf additionally said the SPCA is still looking for cat and dog food donations. Specifically, they are in need of dry cat food, dry dog food and wet dog food.

If you or someone you know would like to adopt Emma, contact the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA here. To register or learn more about the SPCA's educational clinics, visit their website here.
