'48 Hours' Episode to Revisit Eric Smith Murder Case
UPDATE: Due to NCAA basketball on March 19th, CBS has rescheduled this episode to air on Saturday, March 26th.
(WENY) -- CBS network's "48 Hours" news program will revisit the murder case of Eric Smith, after his release from prison earlier this year.
Smith was released from prison in February, after 28 years behind bars for the brutal 1993 murder of Derrick Robie. Smith was 13 at the time, and Derrick was just four years old.

Now 42, Smith is out on parole, believed to be living in Queens. Dale and Doreen Robie, Derrick's parents, are speaking with 48 Hours, to honor the memory of their son after fighting for years to keep his killer behind bars.

“We never forget our boy … because he was, you know, a wonderful child,” Doreen Robie told "48 Hours." “And we miss him terribly. … I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.”
"48 Hours" will air Saturday, March 19th at 10PM on WENY CBS. To view a preview of the episode, click here.
