SAYRE, P.A. (WENY) -- Dandy Mini-Mart is teaming up with Bradford County Veterans Affairs department in helping local veterans get connected to services and resources, without having to travel to an office.

Both organizations are working over the next several weeks to raise awareness for the Mobile Veterans Resource Center vehicle. The office on wheels informs veterans about available services and accommodations while having those resources brought straight from the van. Dandy's Marketing Director Bill Bustin feels the initiative will grow rapidly as more organizations participate.

“The goal is to keep it moving,” Bustin said. “That’s what it's there for; people who need a little bit of extra help to get it right to their front door.”

“When we completed the van in 2020, we were hindered with the Covid-19 pandemic. Now that the restrictions are eased, we want to take the office on the road. Many Veterans are unaware of their benefits and I hope that teaming up with Dandy will bring the needed awareness to our Veteran population,” said Pete Miller, Bradford County Veterans Affairs Director.

Bustin hopes more local organizations are influenced to have the Veteran’s Affairs vehicle stop at their business.

Currently, the vehicle is making stops at the following Dandy Mini Marts from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Wednesday, March 30th – North Towanda

Wednesday, April 6th – Wysox

Wednesday, April 13th – Monroeton
