Afternoon storms

A cold front will be sliding in from the west, today. This will bring scattered rain showers beginning around noon and exiting by 5 PM.
The Storm Prediction Center has our region at a 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather. There is a potential for thunderstorm development to our east.
The main concern here, is strong wind gusts. As this front rolls in, winds will shift out of the southwest at steady speeds near 10 mph to 20 mph with gusts near 30 mph.
Calmer winds will takeover this evening with temperatures in near freezing.
