This Week in Wine Country: Single Pan Showdown at Seneca Lake Brewing Co.
ROCK STREAM, NY (WENY) -- This week in wine country, sponsored by Finger Lakes Wine Country, we're visiting the Beerocracy at Seneca Lake Brewing Company.
Owner Bradley Gillett is hosting two events in early May. The first is 'The Single Pan Showdown' - where Gillett and three other local chefs will face off in a cooking challenge, each only having a single-size paella ban and burner to cook with.
The chefs are as follows, according to Seneca Lake Brewing Co.:
Chef Eduardo - Esteemed chef and culinary master behind the Catherine Valley winery Argentinian cookouts. Chef Eduardo is a master at open fire cooking and the meats. Crafting delicious tender dishes that make the mouth water.
Chef Michael - Co-Owner & Founder of Dean Lane Catering. Michael's palate and chef skills are second to none and there is nothing he cannot cook. His attention to detail and flavors are incredible and enough to make any food aficionado's taste buds go wild.
Chef Greg - Co-Owner and Executive Chef at the 1897 Beekman House brings his passion and skill from many years in the culinary industry in NYC. Chef Greg is renowned for his exquisite dinners at The Beekman House and has the ability to craft incredible dishes utilizing the freshest of ingredients.
Chef Bradley - Owner & Founder of Seneca Lake Brewing Company & The Beerocracy. Bradley's passion for food stems from many years of working in kitchens and loving all demographics of food in general give him the ability to create amazing dishes with flavors that excite.
The event is free to attend, but tickets to taste each chef's creations are $40. Tickets are available here. The event is capped at 50 tickets.
Proceeds from the food sales at the event will be split evenly between the Humane Societies in Schuyler and Yates counties. Additionally, the Beerocracy is collecting donations of pet food and supplies to donate.
Live music will also be provided by The Sweats from 3 - 6PM.
The Beerocracy is also hosting the 2022 NYS British Real Ale Festival on May 14th, beginning at 3PM. Guests will be able to taste a variety of real British Cask Ales created by breweries from across New York state.
Ticket prices begin at $50 for tasters ($20 for designated drivers). Ticket information can be found here. Tickets include beer samples, a festival tasting glass, and one complimentary food ticket.
