Meet Rhett, WENY's SPCA Pet of the Week!
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Rhett, WENY's SPCA Pet of the Week from the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA!
Rhett is a three-month-old black domestic medium-haired cat who the SPCA says is on a mission to party! He is a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you he loves to play, explore and test his limits.
As a kitten, Rhett is suitable for almost any type of home as he can easily adjust. However, individuals who may be a little unsure about their home environment, such as having a more energetic pet, should proceed with caution. It is recommended that those who own dogs or any other type of pet make sure they are already "cat savvy" and know how to behave around one.
While Rhett is only three months old, the SPCA's Media Relations Coordinator Jaime Wolf said a few older cats have been at the shelter for some time. So, in an effort to help all current cats find their forever homes, any cat at the SPCA who is one year old or older will have its adoption fee waived until the end of May.
The SPCA also has some exciting events happening in the coming weeks. On June 1, Patrick's -- located at 303 College Ave, Elmira -- will be hosting a Paint-and-Sip. Tickets are $30, are portions will go towards the SPCA. The shelter will also be holding some children's classes in the month of June. Information about all upcoming events can be found on the SPCA's website here.
If you or someone else you know is interested in adopting Rhett, contact fill out an application form for the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA here.
