CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Hundreds of runners were ready and set to go at Corning-Painted Post High School on Saturday morning for the Wineglass 8k.

The Memorial Day Weekend race kicked off the 2022 Wineglass Race Series. Dozens of Corning-Painted Post High School students guided runners through the 5-mile road course. Race Director Sheila Sutton was excited to bring the race back to Corning after the race was moved to Painted Post last year.

“We had a great turnout last year, but we have even more this year,” Sutton said. “It's great to have the community support back in Corning.”
