Horseheads, NY (WENY)-- For the 180th consecutive year, the Chemung County Fair open its gates, and there is plenty for you and your family to do throughout the course of the week.

Gates will open at 11 AM through Friday and 10 AM on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is five dollars at the gate, with children ten and under free.

The fair kicked off with Harness racing at noon on Tuesday, with the games and Midway opening up at 4 PM. 

The games and Midway will open up at 4 PM until Friday, and 1 PM Saturday and Sunday.

In addition the the games and rides, special events will be taking place at the grandstand running the course of the week. 

The popular demolition derby will return for Tuesday night at seven, and Sunday afternoon at 4. Other events taking place include the East Coast Professional Wrestling Slamfest, and Queen Nation, a Queen tribute band.

All of these events have tickets that need to purchase, with prices ranging from 15 dollars for the demolition derby, to 25 dollars for Queen Nation.

Another main attraction this year is the livestock shows. Olivia Terwilliger is one of the participants this year. She is showing her two cows Spunky and Titan, which she has had for a little over a year. She says that she loves coming to the fair.

"I would say (probably) meeting new friends and having a good old time." She explain as to why she enjoys the experience.

She added that she is at the fair with her cows just to have fun with the livestock show.
