CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) - A Corning man will spend time in prison for his role in a fire that killed his grandmother in 2019.

Justin Gause, 24, was sentenced in Steuben County court Tuesday to three to nine years in state prison for manslaughter.

Gause, along his brother Jarrett, were accused of making meth in their grandmother's home on Townsend St. in Riverside when a fire started. Authorities say the two brothers went back to the home to recover their meth-making equipment, but left Gladys Willow behind.

Willow was trapped in the burning home and died.
