CAMPBELL, N.Y. (WENY) - A Campbell man was arrested for allegedly choking a sheriff's deputy.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office, 50 year old Kris Calkins of Campbell was arrested following an alleged attack on a deputy. The sheriff's office says the deputy was serving as a peacekeeper on Parker Road in the town.

Calkins was charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and obstructing governmental administration. He was arraigned and released.

The deputy was treated by EMS at the scene.
