Heavy rains earlier in the week, helped to ease drought conditions across much our viewing area.  For several weeks, a good chunk of Steuben, Chemung, Tioga and Potter counties were within the moderate drought status. There areas have been downgraded to level one in the drought monitor, which is abnormally dry.  Additionally, the Northeastern section of Tioga county is no longer considered dry.

Monday's rainfall topped at 1.65'', which means that our year to date deficit is about 2.5''. High Pressure will push on through our area with dry and sunny conditions Friday and Saturday. However, our next rain chance is Sunday or Monday and may continue into Wednesday. This next round of precipitation could help further improve conditions across the Twin Tiers.
