Suspects Arrested in Athens Bank Robbery
UPDATE 10/4: Athens police have arrested two suspects accused of robbing the Visions Federal Credit Union on September 24th.
After the robbery, Sayre police were notified one of the suspect was at a bank in their jurisdiction. Video footage showed the vehicle the suspects were in, which had a New Jersey license plate. The vehicle itself had been reported stolen out of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Athens police say they worked with local, state and federal agencies, and the two suspects were arrested. The suspects were identified as Francis Neller, 33, and Kareem Moore, 22. Neller was taken into custody on October 1st in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, while Moore was arrested on October 3rd in Binghamton, New York. Police say Neller is from Vestal.
ATHENS, PA (WENY)-- The Athens Township Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred on Saturday, September 24th, 2022.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 am.
According to police, a male entered the Visions Federal Credit Union on Elmira Street in Sayre, Pennsylvania. He handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller handed the individual a small amount of money and he exited the bank.
He is described as a black male between 20-30 years old. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, grey sneakers, and a black mask.
