SAYRE, PA (WENY) -- The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. is in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

The wall will arrived by motorcycle escort from Wysox to Sayre on Tuesday, October 4th. Assembly of the wall begins at 3PM on Tuesday, with the panels at the apex being placed. The remainder of the wall will begin at 8:30AM on Wednesday, and will take several hours to complete.

On Thursday, and opening ceremony will be held at 6PM, including remarks from Sayre Borough Mayor Henry Farley, as well as the reading of the names of service members from the Valley whose names are on the wall, a salute by the Valley Color Guard, and the playing of Taps.

Taps will be played at 7PM each day the wall is at the park, and at 2PM on Sunday, October 9th at the event's closing. The wall will be on continuous public display from 3PM on October 5th through 2PM on October 9th.

Unveiled in 1996, The Wall That Heals is operated by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF), which is a non-profit organization that commissioned the construction of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. 

The traveling wall is transported on a trailer that opens to become a mobile Education Center on the Vietnam War, displaying photos of the service members whose names on it. As of 2017, there are 58,318 names inscribed on the wall.  

Pop up tours of the Wall That Heals will be offered Friday and Saturday, beginning at the Mobile Education Center, at 10AM, 12PM, 3PM and 6PM.
