Today was a fairly warm October day across the region. Our highs ranged from the mid 60s to the low 70s.  The map above shows the highest recorded temperatures occurred in Central Pennsylvania and around Syracuse. Areas further west like Buffalo had highs in the upper 50s and low 60s.  Southwest winds pushed cooler air from the Great Lakes over these Western areas .

At the Elmira Airport, 68 degrees was recorded today, which is about 6 degrees above average. Our record high for today is 83 and this happened back in 1947.
