CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The 8th Annual Gingerbread Invitational has returned to Corning. An exhibition of sweet, gingerbread creations is now on display for people to vote on.

These gingerbread creations were made by baking enthusiasts and community members of all skill levels. People can now cast their vote for the Community Choice Award. The Rockwell Museum's Director of Communications, Willa Vogel, said the winner will be announced at the beginning of the new year.

“We're celebrating all the wonderful artists who have made these awesome, gingerbread creations that the public can come see,” she said.

Vogel said people love to stop by the museum during the holiday season to check out the exhibition and participate in the competition.

“People absolutely love it and encourage you to come in and cast your vote for the Community Choice Award and the winner actually gets a cash prize,” she said. “We encourage you to come and vote, right now through the end of December...it's the perfect thing to do over holiday break.”

Vogel said the gingerbread creations are a great way to celebrate the holidays. She added, it is one of her favorite ways to get the Corning community together.

“We always have people who say, 'Oh, my family always comes to see the gingerbread when we shop in Corning,' and we look forward to it every year,” she said. “We're really proud that we've been able to make this...just cozy, fun tradition in Corning.”

People can check out these sweet creations for free during the "Holiday Open House" on December 3rd and 4th.
