CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) - On Thursday, Democrats rang the bells for charity and on Friday, it was the Republicans turn.

The annual ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in Centerway Square in Corning continued today. The Corning Republican party will match $250 dollars of any money raised.

Corning City councilman Mark Resue says the support and participation from the community has been strong and that people are happy to be helping out for a good cause.

"It's good for the community, the Salvation Army gives back to the community so much, we feel that it's a good cause and we like to particpate," says Resue. "Everybody that passes by have been very willing to donate to the Salvation Army."
