Meet Betty Lou, WENY's SPCA Pet of the Week!
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Betty Lou, WENY's Pet of the Week from the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA!
Betty Lou is a 10-year-old female Terrier/Mix who is looking for an emotionally secure, mutually satisfying, low-maintenance relationship. She prefers humans that can keep it low-key, as some of the farthest walks Betty Lou likes going on is to the food bowl and back. Betty Lou is good with other dogs, but prefers dogs who can match her calm personality. The Chemung County SPCA is not sure how she will react around cats. They also recommend Betty Lou goes to a home with older children. Betty Lou does have some experience interacting with kids younger than 6, but the SPCA advises a meet and greet first.
The Chemung County SPCA currently has a lot of cats at its shelter. Quite a bit of them have been sponsored, meaning their adoption fees are waived pending an approved application. Some young kittens are sponsored, but the SPCA is hoping to give some of its older cat residents a lovely home.
Due to the warmer than average weather the Twin Tiers has had recently, the SPCA says that a lot of animals have been reported missing over the past few weeks. To help combat this, they advise getting your pet micro-chipped, which cannot fall off your pet like a collar or other tag could. The SPCA offers micro-chipping at its vaccine clinics for around $25.
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Bubbles, fill out an application on the SPCA's website here.
