Max Coven joined the WENY News team in January of 2023 as a Multimedia Journalist. Originally from Chicago, IL, he is ecstatic to begin his career in the Twin Tiers! 

Max graduated from Hofstra University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Creative Writing. During his time at Hofstra, Max had the opportunity to intern for NBC’s TODAY Show, WNBC New York Live and NBC News Custom Productions. 

A fun fact about Max is he attended the Met Gala Red Carpet assisting NBC’s Sheinelle Jones in top fashion moments. Additionally, Max was honored by the Press Club of Long Island for his field reporting for Hofstra Today. 

Max has been on-air talent with Hofstra Entertainment Access Television (HEAT) for his full college career. He was a field reporter, entertainment anchor, and head anchor for his campus news channel. Additionally, he was the package anchor for Directors Cut, and the Midterms 2022 Hofstra Votes Live Decision Desk Reporter. 

When he is not bringing you the news, you can find Max working out, trying new coffee shops, obsessively scrolling TikTok to find new trends, planning, planning, and binging hit TV series.
