Three Men Arrested on Drug, Weapons Charges Stemming from Traffic Stop

VETERAN, N.Y. (WENY) - Police arrested three men on drug and weapons charges stemming from a traffic stop on Route 13 in Chemung County.
According to New York State Police, a car was stopped for speeding on route 13 in Veteran and they said that the car had been reported stolen in Ithaca. An investigation showed that cocaine and four loaded handguns were located inside the car.
Diyandre Harriett, 18, of Ithaca, Charles Nembhard, 19, of Freeville, and Marcellus Smith, 18, of Painted Post were charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Harriett was also charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
All three were arraigned in Horseheads Court and brought to the Chemung County Jail.
