ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - A dump truck traveling on West Water Street in Elmira rolled over on Thursday, spilling dirt on a white car in the process and trapping both drivers.

The drivers were soon freed by emergency responders and sent to a local hospital for evaluation. 

Both drivers were treated and have since been released. According to the Elmira Police Department, a preliminary investigation has shown the crash occurred due to the dump truck failing to stop for a red light.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
