OWEGO, N.Y. (WENY) - The Boys and Girls Club of Tioga County New York held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday to honor a former member.

The club has a newly renovated gym named in memory of Charlie Sibley, a former member and supporter of the club, who contributed to the project's inspiration and funding.

Volunteer Ken Henson says it's wonderful to see this done in honor of Charlie and his overwhelming support for the club. He says the kids will be very excited to see the results.

"It's Charlie's day. This is just awesome that we can do this for him, for all the stuff he's done for the club, and emotionally, it's just a warm day," says Henson. "It's just awesome, and all I'm doing is thinking of Charlie and it's awesome."

Sibley grew up in the area and was a major supporter of the Boys and Girls Club.
