CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- On Friday and Saturday in Corning's Gaffer District, market goers can enjoy chill-themed foods as well as wine and craft beer pairings at over 20 participating restaurants and pubs along Market Street. The event starts Friday at 10 a.m., according to Explore Steuben's Communications Manager Dave DeGolyer. Live music will be playing in the Gaffer District on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bridges Bar and Grill and Carey's Brew House.  Officials are also teasing an announcement about an "exciting" new sports team coming to Corning.

On Sunday, Feb. 19, Wunderbar Lagerfest returns to the Steuben Brewing Company from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The festival will feature 12 lagers, with a few special guest taps. The free event will feature drinks, live music and German-style food.

If you are an adult and want to spend a February Friday night surrounded by wine, spirits and brews, Corning's Cabin Fever event on Feb. 24th is made for you. Adults 21-years-old and older can sample select choices of alcohols, as well as free products, special promotions and other tokens of appreciation. The full list of restaurants participating will be announced at a later date.

"Traditionally, this is one of the most popular winter events because it's kind of... get out and actually enjoy [life] after being stuck inside for wintertime," DeGolyer said.

Throughout the entire month of March, Explore Steuben, the Gaffer District and other tourism agencies will be honoring residents who support local businesses. The organizations will be randomly handing out $25 gift cards at eateries throughout Steuben County. The organizations is also holding online competitions for $250 gift cards and other prizes.
