(WENY) -- A new cafe featuring breakfast and lunch options will be opening sometime in March. The Blackberry Inn Kitchen will be an expansion of the Blackberry Inn & Breakfast, which is run by co-owners David Hertel and Brian Eslinger.

"Over the years, we've had guests ask us if we would provide lunch or dinner for them and because of our insurance, we haven't been able to. Also, locals have periodically asked if they could come by for breakfast without staying overnight. So, we felt a cafe would be a natural progression for us and our business," said Hertel in an online written statement.

One thing the co-owners thought would make their cafe different from other breakfast restaurants in the area, would be to serve bagels.

"But not just any bagels. Authentic New York bagels that are boiled, and then baked," said Hertel in an online written statement.

The cafe will be located at 309 N. Franklin Street in Watkins Glen. The Blackberry Inn & Breakfast is at a separate location at 209 Sixth Street, also in Watkins Glen.

Hertel and Eslinger are planning for a March "soft opening." There's no word yet on a specific time and date.
