Meet Bunker, WENY's SPCA Pet of the Week!
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Bunker, WENY's Pet of the Week from the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA!
Bunker is a 12-year-old male domestic shorthaired cat who loves cuddling and quality time. The SPCA recommends he go to a home without dogs and cats, and any children in the home should be 12 years old and older.
Since Bunker is considered a senior, he qualifies for the SPCA's Senior-to-Senior program, where his adoption fee will be waived for any senior aged 60 and up. Those who are younger than 60 do not need to worry, though, as Bunker's adoption fee has been paid already by a sponsor.
If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Bunker, fill out an application here.
To help Bunker and all of his fur friends at the SPCA stay in top shape, the shelter is seeking donations from the public. Currently, it is mostly in need of dry dog and cat food, as well as blankets and towels.
The SPCA is also supporting its animals through its upcoming "Celebrity Chef" event on April 22. Food and drinks will be provided, and guests can have the opportunity to participate in raffles and an auction. More information will be released at a later date.
With spring right around the corner, the SPCA would like to remind all pet parents to keep their animals safe as the weather gets warmer. With more animals staying outside longer, the shelter urges owners to update their pet's vaccines and get them microchipped. Both of those services can be done at the SPCA itself; more information and reservations can be found on the shelter's website.
