Elmira Police respond to a motor vehicle crashing into a house

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- On Friday around 11pm, Elmira Police officers responded to the 500 block of Baty St. for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle crashing into a home. When officers arrived on scene they observed a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole and then into two houses.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and was located a short time later. No injuries have been reported at this time.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Jamelle Collier. Collier was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree (Felony), Operating without an Interlock Device, Leaving the Scene of a property damage accident, and moving from lane unsafely.
