ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - After recently winning a state title, the Elmira boys bowling team was honored for their accomplishments on Monday.

Chemung County Executive, Chris Moss presented the team with a proclamation, and the Express were also recognized by Senator Tom O'Mara represented by Sara Lattin.

The state title team consists of Ty Bolt (Senior), Alex Smith (Junior), Trent Belloma (Sophomore), Skylar Shadduck (Sophomore), Alex Gublo (Freshman), and Frankie D'Angelo (7th Grade).

Elmira captured the NYSPHSAA Division I state title on March 10th in a comeback effort at Strike N' Spare lanes in Syracuse. It was the first state title in Elmira Express High School history ad the second in school district history after Southside won a state title in 2005.

Last week, Horseheads senior Cullin Cole was also recognized with a proclamation for winning a state swimming title in the 50 Free.
